Baton Bearer for PCOD/PCOS Awareness 2020 - Nirmukta



"Awareness is the greatest agent for the change." When the mindset needs to be changed, the voice must be loud and clear.

September marks as the World's PCOD Awareness Month. Keeping the purpose of the project “Be the Baton Bearer for PCOD PCS Awareness Program 2020", a global conference was organised by the start-up organisation NIRMUKTA "nurturing curious minds" with more than 400 registrations and 210 attendees. The conference held for more than two hours. Founder Director Himangi Arora Mishra unleashed the conference with a simple yet powerful message to one and all women in the world to accept themselves with care and pride. In spite of a virtual event, the attendees keenly and interactively participated in the informative conference until the end of the program. women from all walks of life Young colleges students, medical students, psychologists, educators, doctors in the age bracket of 15 to 50 from different states of India and countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Muscat, Zimbabwe and UK also mark their presence in the informative and insightful conference.

In detail presentation on the causes, symptoms and treatments of PCOS/PCOD, menstrual problems, along with alarming signs for those who are on the family way was conducted by Dr Nirupama. P.Mishra (President- Adolescent Health Academy Lucknow. Zonal Coordinator-Women's Wing Indian Academy of Paediatrics,) and Dr G. Sujatha (Senior Consultant- OBG, Westminster Healthcare PVT.LTD, a Fertility Specialist, Chennai).

The presentation was added to the Role of Exercise and Diet in PCOD, taken up by Mr Ashhar Akhlaque (Advocate of lifestyle Transformation and Wellness Expert with Reshape Nation, Hyderabad) and the conference lead towards the closure with a very insightful and educative session conducted by Dr Joana Rogister (Holistic Nutritionist, Homeopathy Practitioner and a profound High-Performance Coach and co-founder of an online heart centred community named Speak Up and Empower,ONTARIO).

The rapid Q & A with the attendees was an eye-opener for all.
